Silverpoint: Underdrawing

I could develop much of this drawing in the studio based upon the ever critical value study and some supplemental photographs for reference when needed.  Since I live around the corner, so it was always possible to step outside to check on a detail whenever necesssary, however, the final description of overall tonality plus the added india ink contrasts were done on site, both to insure fidelity to the view as well as my interpretation of it.

The drawing is complete in itself yet also serves well for the succeeding layers of egg tempera and oil.
