Mixed Media: Connecticut

1979, Friendly's ice cream mountains. 2' x 3' Encaustic, egg tempera and oil on wooden panels.
Yes, this painting is FOR SALE. Please contact me for all price inquiries.
The wood that was used for the
Nils project came from the local dump (a
great place to find seasoned hard wood, BTW). After
cutting up the pieces I needed for Nils,
I found I had lots of leftover bits and bobs. Combining
those pieces with a mondo-bizarro marketing poster for
Friendly's ice cream, I continued experimenting with methods of
imaging. Three of the squares here are laminates of the
original poster. 25 years later they are dull and
uninteresting in comparison to the vibrant colors of the
egg tempera,
encaustic or
oil samples. |
