1978, Nils
3'6" x 6'2" or 107 x 188 cm, Egg tempera, encaustic and oil on panels.
SOLD.
The summer 1978, I sat myself down to begin
experimenting with different painting techniques. At that time I
created a number of "puzzle paintings", each square
done in a different technique. My idea was to experiment,
to see what materials and methods resonated and why, also to create individual, small abstract images able to function in their own right yet existing as part of a larger whole. The
disciplines of commercial printing and photography, melded with pigments, fabric, wood, egg yolk, beeswax, linseed
oil and above all: light.
